A stream once flowed here now only a meandering spring displaying autumn color the Takh Takh Meadow Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Washington state's Cascade Mountain Range near Mount Adams. ("Takh Takh" is a Taidnapam/Yakama word meaning "small Prairie") in the edge of the meadow, a lodgepole pine forest hides an ancient volcanic flow - large black rough bolders rising abruptly 50-100 feet above the surrounding land.
